What We’re Watching: A New Federal Push on Private School Choice? – by Education Next

On Wednesday, January 18 at 1 pm, Fordham and Hoover will host a discussion of three of the options policymakers might consider as they try to launch a school choice program:

Martin Falbisoner

a new competitive grant program;

allowing Title I and/or IDEA funds to follow children to their schools of choice, including private schools;

and adapting the tax code to stimulate additional support for state-created private-school scholarship programs.

Rep. Luke Messer, Joanne Weiss, Andy Smarick, Virginia Gentles, and McKenzie Snow will participate in the event.
